One such cause that has truly captured our hearts is ForRefugees – a charity dedicated to providing essential aid to refugees across Europe.
Our connection to ForRefugees runs deep. The charity was founded by Amber Bauer, a lifelong friend of our Director, Angela Inglis. Amber’s passion for helping those forced to flee their homes due to conflict and persecution is an inspiration to us all. For Angela, it’s more than just a personal connection – it’s witnessing the direct impact of ForRefugees’ work for herself.
Last year, Angela joined Amber on a trip to Greece, where they visited refugee camps on the islands of Chios and Samos. The experience was eye-opening, bringing home the harsh realities of life for refugees and the crucial role ForRefugees plays in providing support where it’s needed most. During their time in Greece, Angela and Amber worked closely with grassroots organisations supported by ForRefugees, such as ‘Biryani and Bananas,’ which provides essential supplies like food, clothing, and basic hygiene items to those living in the camps. The experience was humbling. Angela returned feeling immensely motivated by the resilience and gratitude of the refugees she met, despite the dire conditions they face daily.
This deep personal involvement is what drives our commitment to supporting ForRefugees. The more we learn about the incredible work they do, the more determined we become to help amplify their efforts. Every donation to the charity goes directly to the people who need it most, without being tied up in bureaucracy or unnecessary overheads. This hands-on approach is one of the many reasons we’re so proud to stand behind this cause.
On Sunday, the 15th of September, our directors – Angela Inglis, Geoff Crow, and Pamela Badham – will be taking on the Edinburgh Kiltwalk, a challenging 20-mile trek, to raise vital funds for ForRefugees. This event is not just a physical challenge for our team – it’s an opportunity to raise awareness and support for a charity that works tirelessly to improve the lives of those who have lost everything. Inspired by Angela’s firsthand experience, Geoff and Pamela are equally committed to the cause, knowing that every step they take will help make a difference.

My team and I can’t wait to have them join us as we take on the Kiltwalk this month. However, our commitment to supporting ForRefugees doesn’t stop with the Kiltwalk. We’ve pledged to donate a share of profits from every event we deliver to this important cause, as well as other charities close to our hearts.
