This summer, Dior debuted its Cruise 2025 collection in the stunning gardens of Drummond Castle in Perthshire, known as the “Versailles of Scotland.” This event was a monumental occasion, celebrating Dior’s long-standing connection with Scotland and paying tribute to the historic ties between Scotland and France, known as the Auld Alliance.

Christian Dior had a profound personal connection to Scotland, inspired by its traditions and landscapes. The designer frequently visited the country, hosting shows and events that highlighted the historic Auld Alliance between Scotland and France. Dior’s last runway show in Scotland dates back to 1955, when Christian Dior himself showcased his designs at the iconic Gleneagles Hotel and Central Hotel in Glasgow. The brand’s return this summer was a nod to that rich history, celebrating Dior’s connection with Scotland’s culture and heritage.

Under the creative direction of Maria Grazia Chiuri, the Cruise 2025 collection was inspired by the vibrant Scottish landscape and history. The show opened with tartan outfits and closed with a parade of pipers, echoing the cultural fusion of both countries. Dior collaborated with local Scottish fabric makers, including Harris Tweed and Johnstons of Elgin, and worked with Samantha McCoach from Le Kilt to develop stunning pocketed kilts.

This collaboration underscored the extraordinary bond between Scotland and France. We were thrilled to be a part of this homecoming event for Dior, supporting the brand’s vision, highlighting the shared heritage, and celebrating Scotland’s rich history and exceptional design.

“We worked closely with Dior to ensure their guests experienced the best of Scottish hospitality, aligning with the elegance and sophistication of the event. We couldn’t be happier that the sun shone for their show and made both the collection and Scotland shine brightly. I am sure Monsieur Dior was looking down fondly as his 1955 passion for Scotland was reignited.” explained Angela Inglis, Director of Limitless DMC.
